So as an unsigned artist I have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to get heard.
One thing that seems crucial on Spotify is getting the play count up above the 1000 plays mark so that people can see the actual number and are more likely to listen but how do you do this without breaking the Spotify Terms & Conditions?
After a lot of searching I struggled to find anything other than paid services with most blogs talking about building Spotify playlists and sharing them with as many people as possible.
But hang on! There are hundreds of thousands of unsigned artists all trying to do the same thing so I thought “why don’t we help each other?”.
So here’s how this works:
- Add ONE of your tracks to the Unsigned Artists Spotify Playlist.
- Follow the playlist
- Listen to some of the tracks on the playlist occasionally (this is where the trust comes in!)
- Share the playlist on all your social media channels on a regular basis.
That’s it!
With a bit of camoradorie us unsigned artists can help each other succeed on Spotify.

I’m in. Had been thinking of a similar scheme, myself and still might pursue it; there’s a fairly big gap between the music of modern classical composers like myself, and the (really fine) work of most of your members. Still, count on me for at least five tracks/day to be played!
Thanks for setting this up.

Hi Danielle. We are happy to help with all genres of music. It just takes a little more time to get enough to create a genre-specific playlist. If you are on SoundCloud then we have a Classical Collection playlist & we are working on a 2nd one: https://soundcloud.com/atom-collector-records
Thanks!
